Tired of the heat? Try an indoor pool.

Family Fun Plex Pool

I love swimming. At the beginning of every summer, I try to get to the outdoor pools as much as I can to soak up some Vitamin D and float in the cool water.  My kids are old enough now to want to swim all day. . .I mean, really, they want to close the place down.

And then, sometime about mid-summer, it just gets too hot to sit in the sun and bake while the kids swim. It’s uncomfortable, and boring, and almost miserable. (I know this is a first-world problem. But still).

Luckily, Greeley’s got some excellent indoor pool alternatives.

1. Family Fun Plex

The indoor pool at the Family Fun Plex is half community pool/half awesome water park. Two water slides, a lazy river, a zero depth area for little ones, and a water basketball court will keep the kids occupied all afternoon. No kids? Lap swimming hours and walking backward in the lazy river are also available. And I can sit inside an air conditioned facility and watch! The Fun Plex is located at 1501 65th Avenue, 970-350-9401.

2. Hope Therapy Pool

This pool may not be as delightful in summer as it is in winter, because it is heated up near 90 degrees. But they have family and open swim hours, as well as swim lessons. Check it out! They are located at 2780 28th Avenue, 970-339-2433.
